Craft for a Cause: Comfort for Hospice ends 2/28/22

 We are in the last month of our collection time for blankets and shawls for Mt. Hood Hospice.  So far, close to 30 individual pieces have been donated to bring comfort and warmth to our community members in hospice care. The compassion, talent, and generosity has been incredible. 
We will continue our collection until our last drop off on February 28th. There's still time, if you want to participate! HERE is a super simple pattern to get you started.

Craft for a Cause: Holiday cards for seniors

The Sandy/Hoodland Library invites you to make greeting cards for home-bound seniors to celebrate the holiday season. An assortment of craft supplies enclosed in the kit along with two blank cards will get you started, but you are welcome to use additional supplies of your own. 

Q:Who are the finished cards delivered to? 
A: In SA, Cascadia Village, Avamere & Meals on Wheels. In Welches, Meals on Wheels

Q: Do I need to use an envelope? 
A: No envelopes please

Q: Can I take more than one kit? 
A: One per family member

Q: When do they need to be returned? 
A: By Dec 20th

Craft for a Cause: Comfort for Hospice

The Sandy and Hoodland Libraries are partnering with Mt. Hood Hospice to provide warmth and comfort to patients receiving end-of-life care. Knit or crochet a shawl or lap blanket using the guidelines below. We will be collecting items from November through February. and deliver them to Mt. Hood Hospice as they are turned in. Craft for a Cause: Hearts for Teachers

Would you like to let our local teachers know how much they are appreciated? Make a heart using one of the following ideas, and drop it off at the Sandy Library by February 14th. Baskets of the hearts will be delivered to each school in the Oregon Trail School District the following day. Make sure your hearts are not addressed to specific teachers as they will be delivered at random.

• woven paper heart  - you can pick up a template for this at library curbside

• heart baskets - a more complex version of the woven heart

• paper heart chains

• wood hearts - a limited supply will be available at our library curbside starting Jan. 20th for you to take home and decorate

• knit or crocheted hearts - you can pick these patterns up at our library curbside. There are many free patterns available online.

• Or come up with your own idea!
