Updates from LINCC

LINCC Libraries

LINCC Update

We wanted to let you know about two upcoming changes at your local LINCC libraries.

UPCOMING LOAN PERIOD CHANGES

Starting September 1, Libraries in Clackamas County will be standardizing check-out periods. New adult fiction, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games, Lucky Day items, Library of Things items, and magazines will check out for 14 days. Most other items will check out for 28 days.

UPCOMING CHANGES TO BLOCKED ACCOUNTS

When LINCC libraries closed in response to the pandemic, the account block limit—how much money can be owed on an account before it is blocked—was temporarily increased so that patrons could continue to use resources and access their account even while libraries were closed. Now that LINCC libraries have reopened, the account block limit will return to $25 on September 8. If you need to discuss your account balance or would like to make a payment on your account, please contact your local LINCC library.

Thank you for your continued patience and support. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local LINCC library.

As always, we are happy to answer any questions you might have about  your account.

What is Stephen King reading this Summer?

Curious what Stephen King is reading this summer? In Amazon's article, Mr. King identified 4 titles. Find those titles in the library catalog by clicking on the links below!

by Will Leitch
4.4 out of 5 stars. 868 reviews. (868)
How Lucky
Daniel, the hero of this wonderful novel, is smart, funny, and resourceful. He’s also confined to a wheelchair, able only to speak through a computer and with movement in only his left hand. One day he sees what he believes is an abduction, and soon he’s in a battle—first mental, then all too physical—with a dangerous lunatic. How Lucky combines the terror of Wait Until Dark and Rear Window with a dollop of amusement and courage.

by Riley Sager
4.4 out of 5 stars. 4679 reviews. (4679)
Lock Every Door
Jules, down and almost out in New York City, gets an amazing and well-paying job apartment-sitting at the fabulous Bartholomew. Her friend Chloe tells her it’s too good to be true, and boy, is she right. If you liked Rosemary’s Baby, you’ll love this one.

by C.J. Box
4.7 out of 5 stars. 12957 reviews. (12957)
Dark Sky
You may have seen Big Sky on TV, the excellent adaptation of Box’s Highway Trilogy. Those three books are good, but this one, featuring game warden Joe Pickett, is even better. Stuck with the job of babysitting a tech mogul who wants a hunting experience, the hunt for big-game elk turns into a pulse-pounding chase story you won’t be able to put down.

by Stephen Markley
4.1 out of 5 stars. 416 reviews. (416)
Ohio

On a night when four high school graduates intersect in a small Ohio town, secrets are revealed and old wounds are torn open. This is a story of lives destroyed by dope, loss, and a long-hidden murder. The writing is smooth and superb, and the picture of a dying Midwest town is indelible.
