2021 Teen Summer Reading
Artwork Contest Rules
The 2021 Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) Teen Summer Reading Artwork Contest will include artwork submitted between Saturday, January 2, and Sunday, January 31. No entries will be accepted after that date. The winning design will be used for all countywide 2021 LINCC Teen Summer Reading program materials, such as posters, forms, flyers, etc.
What types of artwork are eligible?
The artwork must represent the Teen Summer Reading theme Reading Colors Your World in imagery only. Artwork must contain no words.
Design must include artwork on 8 ½” x 11” paper or digitally sized to those dimensions.
Designs must be the original work of the entrant.
Designs should be in color.
Computer-generated images may be used, but all components must be completely original. You may not use any copied images.
Limit two (2) entries per contestant.
What are the awards?
A prize will be awarded for First Place. Honorable Mentions may also be recognized.
Artwork may be showcased on the lincc.org website and/or websites belonging to LINCC member libraries for up to one (1) year.
First Prize: $100 Cash Gift Card
Possible Honorable Mention: $25 Cash Gift Card
How will awards be determined?
Entries will be vetted for adherence to eligibility standards and usability by LINCC staff. Pieces that are considered acceptable will be judged by a panel of librarians and participants of Teen Library Councils from LINCC member libraries. Judging will take place in early March. Award(s) will be announced Monday, March 15, 2021. The decision of the judges is final.
Who can enter?
Eligibility is limited to amateur artists ages 12-18, or 6th to 12th grade students, at the time of submission. Officers, employees and representatives of LINCC, the thirteen LINCC member libraries and their immediate families, employees of any sponsor and their immediate families are ineligible to participate. LINCC shall have the right to verify, in its sole judgment, entrant and winner eligibility. The contest is void where prohibited.
Are there different entry and prize categories by age?
No. All entrants must be ages 12-18, or 6th to 12th grade students, at the time of submission.
How many designs may I submit?
Up to two (2) designs may be submitted by a single individual during the contest period. Individuals submitting more than the limit will have all entries disqualified.
How must the designs be submitted?
A photo or digital copy of the design should be uploaded/submitted through the form at this link: Lincc.org/teenart. KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL ARTWORK. Finalists may be required to submit original artwork for higher quality scanning. Contact your local library with any questions. Entries must be received by January 31, 2021.
What rights will LINCC retain in submitted designs?
Your entry to the contest constitutes a grant from you to LINCC of a free perpetual non-exclusive license authorizing your design to be displayed by LINCC or by third parties with LINCC’s permission, to be used on the LINCC website, and to be used in LINCC advertisements and other LINCC promotional materials. All entries must be free of claims and rights of third parties. LINCC reserves the right to make minor modifications to art and context. LINCC is not responsible for damage to or theft of artwork. Submitted artwork will not be returned.
What right will entrants retain?
Entrants retain all other rights to future use of their artwork except as specified.
May entrants sell their design?
Yes, but the purchaser must be advised that LINCC retains the rights enumerated in “WHAT RIGHTS WILL LINCC RETAIN IN SUBMITTED DESIGNS?”

Please note, we are not accepting food donations.
