Librarians Partner With Netflix’s “Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices” |
The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) worked with Netflix to provide resources for its new series “Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices.” “Bookmarks” is a collection of 12 episodes featuring prominent Black celebrities and artists reading children’s books from Black authors. To help supplement the series, ALSC put together book recommendations related to social justice along with resources about how families can connect with children’s library professionals, and BCALA shared videos and activities for young readers to inspire discussions within families. The materials are available on the “Bookmarks” website. You can also view the series episodes for free on the Netflix Jr. YouTube page. |
