Library Coffeehouse - May

Every month, the Sandy Library hosts a musician and turns the main part of the building into a concert venue. Desserts, coffee, community, and music.

This month, local musicians Tempa & Naor were scheduled to perform.
While the event has been canceled, they will be performing a live stream on Sunday.
Find their Facebook HERE

We hope to resume our Library Coffeehouse soon.

Stay well.

Food for Fines: Quarantine Edition

With more than 6.6 million currently out of work in the United States, the need for our local food pantries are more present than ever. The Sandy Action Center is stretched to fill the need in our community.
Next week is National Library Week and traditionally the Sandy and Hoodland Libraries would be holding a food drive called Food for Fines.
There are a few changes, but we plan on going forward with Food for Fines.

Instructions for Food for Fines 2020
  • Plan to drop off canned foods at the Sandy Action Center between 9 am and Noon.
  • Tuesday, April 21
  • Tuesday, April 28
  • Take a photo of your donation AT the Sandy Action Center
  • Email us the following information -
  • The library card numbers you wish your donation to benefit.
  • The number of cans you dropped off
  • The photo of your donation
  • Indicate if we are allowed to use your photo on our social media.
  • Practice proper social distancing at all times

For each unexpired canned item we will take a $1.00 off your library card fines. If any of the steps aren’t followed, we will be unable to take the amount off your account.
The Sandy Action Center is accepting donations of food ONLY. Household donations will not be accepted at this time.

Library Take-Out

1. Place your holds - If you place your holds before 6 am - it may be possible to pick them up the same day depending on how many people have scheduled an appointment.  Make sure the items you place on hold are checked in at the Sandy Library!  There is no courier service from other libraries in the County.
To see if items are checked in:
Click on details to the right of the item
Scroll down the screen.
Under status it should list a location in the library (NOT say Due 4/30/2020 or another date)
2. Check your library account around 10 am to see if your holds have arrived.
3. Call the library 503.668.5537 between 10 am - 12 pm to schedule a time for pick up. Pick up will be from 1-4 pm.  There will be a limited number of spots every 15 minutes.
4. A table will be set up on the west side of the library.
5. Arrive during your scheduled time and call the library from your vehicle 503.668.5537.  If you arrive before your scheduled time, please wait until your scheduled time to call. Staff will ask for the name of the cardholder and for the library card number.  Staff will then take the materials and place them on the table outside.
6. Wait until staff are back inside the building before exiting your vehicle and picking up your materials.
Be courteous of your fellow library users, and only checkout items a few times per month so that everyone gets a chance to checkout materials.
We appreciate you following these directions exactly for your safety and the safety of library staff!
Stay healthy,
Staff of Sandy and Hoodland Libraries

An eCard grants immediate access to online resources, including eBooks and eAudiobooks. You may also place up to three physical items on hold, but must upgrade to a full library card to check them out. eCards are available to all residents of the LINCC Library District (Clackamas County, Oregon), age 5 and up.
