Kids Program with Clackamas County Vector Control

Teen Paint Night - Thursday, Sep. 30

Event details: Thursday, September 30, 2021, 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Address: 38600 Proctor Blvd, Sandy, OR 97055, under the white Farmer's Market tent

 You are welcome to join us at 4:30 pm for light refreshments provided by AntFarm Youth Services. The painting class begins at 5:00 pm. This is a free, 1.5 hour guided painting class using acrylic paints on canvas. Local artist, April Blackwell, will lead you, step by step from bare canvas to a finished painting. This event is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required. No painting experience is necessary. This event is coordinated by the Sandy Prevention Network. It is hosted by April Backwell. This event is sponsored by AntFarm Youth Services and Sandy Public Library. Need to cancel your registration? Volunteers needed for a Halloween Event

 

Information session for ADULT volunteers for Sandy Library Halloween event for teens.

Join us for a Zoom information session for a teen Halloween event. Sandy Library is seeking ADULT volunteers to participate in a haunted trail and activities under the Gazebo in Meinig Park on Friday, October 29, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. This information session will describe volunteer positions available. Teens may volunteer with a parent or guardian. Email rhanset@ci.sandy.or.us if you have any questions. This information session will be recorded and made available to anyone who is not able to attend during that specific time period.

Seed Library Update

 Hello Gardeners!

This is the season of reaping what we sow. Such abundance!

Many of us get excited to plant our gardens in the spring.  Yet, you can still plant these right now: Arugula, Beets, Cilantro, Collard greens, Endive, Lettuce, Mustard Greens, Pak Choy, Radicchio, Radishes, Rutabaga, Sorrel and Spinach.  Some of these plants will overwinter in our area. 

Do you have a place for Wildflowers?   The Sandy Seed Library has been gifted with Pacific Northwest Wildflower Seeds from Sandy High School science teacher Josh Kanable.  Thank you, Josh!

If YOU have seeds to donate to our seed library, feel free to contact me. We have a donation form you can use (see attachment).

Remember, if you have a gardening question you can always Ask A Master Gardener.

Food for Fines

The library has resumed charging overdue fees. Here is an opportunity to reduce your fines and help out your community.

Bring non-perishables to the library, and for each unexpired item, we will take $1.00 off your overdue library card fines. (Not applicable to lost materials.)

The Action Center requests, jam and jelly, and hamburger helper or other box-type meals

Ramen is not accepted at this time.
