Harry Potter STEAM KIT Did you know Harry Potter's Birthday is on July 31? Celebrate with a Harry Potter Light Up Wand Making Kit. Learn how to use the magic of electricity to make a light-up magic wand! Please note you will need to provide your own electrical tape. Duct tape can work too! Kits will be available for pick up at the Sandy and Hoodland Public Library July 27 - August 17. Due to the library closure, call Sandy Library or Hoodland Library to schedule a curbside pickup appointment.

Library materials are once again being transported between libraries! It will be much easier to get a hold on items that Sandy and Hoodland Libraries don't own. One step closer to our normal services!

July 21: Safety, Justice, and Policing with Samuel Sinyangwe and Nkenge Harmon Johnson

What do our communities need to experience safety and justice? What role, if any, can policing play in creating these conditions? Are there aspects of policing that should be preserved as existing systems are reformed or replaced? Join us July 21 for a live conversation about these and other questions with Nkenge Harmon Johnson, president and CEO of Urban League of Portland, and activist and data scientist Samuel Sinyangwe, cocreator of Police Scorecard and Mapping Police Violence, moderated by Omar El Akkad.

This conversation will be broadcast live on YouTube at 5:00 p.m. PDT Tuesday, July 21. A 30-minute reflective discussion will follow the program at 6:00 p.m. Registration is required to join this discussion, which will take place via Zoom. To participate, RSVP here.
